LEVITRA VS CIALIS
Introduction
The market of erectile dysfunction drugs is getting bigger and bigger over the years, and today there's more to it than just Viagra and its generic variations. Medications like Levitra and Cialis have gained much recognition for their effectiveness and now compete with the first ED rug and among themselves as well. And while there are many comparisons among Viagra and Levitra, you don't find that much information about Levitra VS. Cialis. And although they both make part of the same drug class called PDE-5 inhibitors, their effectiveness and application differs significantly.
Mechanism of action
Both Levitra and Cialis act by increasing the blood flow into the male penis, which results in a strong erection that lasts for longer periods of time. But it takes different amounts of time for the drugs to take effect. Cialis is much similar to Viagra in that sense, requiring about 30 minutes to get the action going, while Levitra can start working in about 15-20 minutes after you take the pill. Both drugs are save to take during a meal, which is a no-no when using Viagra.
Dosage
Levitra is available in more dosage variations than Cialis so you can tailor your exact intake in finer amounts with the drug.
Effects
The effects you will experience with Levitra and Cialis are pretty much the same – the quality of your erection will improve. However, don't expect to get a boost in sexual drive as these drugs do not act like aphrodisiacs. You will still have to be sexually stimulated and aroused to get an erection, although it will be easier to obtain when using the drugs. Cialis has a strong advantage over its competitors in what concerns the duration of effects – a single pill is capable of providing firm erections even after 36 hours of being taken. Levitra is less impressive in that sense with only about 5-6 hours of effective work.
Side-effects and Precautions
Although Cialis may look like a winner due to its lengthy period of effectiveness, it's much pickier than Levitra when it comes to restrictions and side-effects. Like all PDE-5 inhibitors both Cialis and Levitra should not be used in conjunction with nitrate-based drugs that are used for treating chest pain or angina – this is very risky and can be harmful if not even fatal. But besides this restriction, Cialis should be used with much more caution by people who have blood pressure problems (both hypertension and hypotension) as it may aggravate their condition. Cialis is also known to cause more side-effects than Levitra, being reported to give its users upset stomach and nausea.
